You Draw How You Feel

The Incredible Hulk

Are You A Hulk?

At least that seemed to be the case with me. The character I tend to felt an urge to draw most of the time was The Hulk. Why? It’s pretty simple. I felt as though there was a lot of frustration that I needed to get out of me and needed to be expressed. Sometimes the world can make you angry, and you can feel as helpless as Bruce Banner. A powerless drone of the military, yet book-wise smarter than any person he’s in the room with. However there he is working and using all of his talents and intellect for people without a stitch of either. And I have felt that way in certain jobs.

Banner’s alter ego The Hulk, gets to get all that frustration out. Most of the time, it’s against the very same people who continue to use and manipulate him in his normal life. The Hulk is that pissed off side of everyone who has ever been frustrated with their job and the people around them. He is everyone who wants to lash out at the world that suppresses him. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t condone getting pissed off at a job and coming in the next day and killing people. No. Success is always the best revenge. People realize how foolish they were to overlook you, and realize what they missed out on had they respected your abilities.

See it was my goal to go from feeling like drawing the Hulk, to feeling like drawing Superman. That’s when the world acknowledges you as the hero you truly are, and not the guy you pretend to be to fit in with all the others.

What character do you feel the need to draw. Other opinions and sketches are welcome.

REPORTER: We’re here today with a hero who wishes to remain anonymous, but is here to help us understand the day to day issues of a… hmmm… what some people would call a costumed adventurer. First off,  I’d like to welcome you to our segment.

HERO: It’s a pleasure to be here.

HERO: Sure you can ask. I wanted to be one ever since I could lift a bow and arrow…

REPORTER: Ummm, sorry just to remind you, you stated you wanted to keep your identity a secret.

HERO: Oh! Ooops! Almost messed up there. It’s against Justice League policy to do these things.

REPORTER: Uhh, mmm hmm, okay. Anyway, what do you feel are some your advantages in this field?

HERO: Well it doesn’t hurt to be a BILLIONAIRE!!! Ha! Ha! Am I right..? I love the green stuff… So much so that I made all my arrows that color. Wanna check them out?

REPORTER: Okay… Just… to remind you again, you stated that you did not want your identity revealed and…

HERO: Wha?..What’s the problem? I don’t under… Oh hold on, my cell phone’s ringing, check it out, it’s green . Figure’s…It’s Black Canary. Chicks love a guy with a mustache, I tell you, there always like Green Arrow look at me, Green Arrow over here. They can’t get enough of the old…

A Lantern's Tale Part 6

1.”As they approached…” the old man began.  “As they approached, I turned the gun on myself. But I.. I..”

“I couldn’t pull the trigger.”

“So instead I decided to wait. The assassins would be there any minute, and I would accept my punishment for what I’d just done to my wife and my child.”

2. “So I waited…”

3. “And waited..”

4. “And waited..”

5. “But they never came.”

“The same rookie that had turned me in before, now thought he would do me a favor by protecting me and my family…”

“But he was too late… to save them…”

“From me.”

End of Part 6
